a weekend at home

Hello everyone!

After several weekends out of town it was really nice to be home this weekend. Friday night I went with Elaine, Gina and Dave to a big family dinner at Elaine and Gina's parents' house. They had lots of family in town this weekend so I met lots of relatives of theirs. We had a huge, wonderful dinner of ribs and corn and coleslaw and cornbread. We then sat on the porch and talked for a long time. It's lots of fun to hear stories about Gina and Elaine as little girls (being brats and being cute!) Elaine and Dave and I went back to their house and played some cards for a while and Gina's new kitten took a nap on me.

Saturday morning Chris came to pick me up and we went out to breakfast at our favorite place. We then took Otis to the dog park where he ran around happy as can be. It always fun to see all the other dogs at the dog park. There was the cutest puppy there...a chocolate lab/weimaraner mix. Chris dropped me off and I watched some episodes of Six Feet Under on DVD. The day turned out to be pretty warm and sunny so I laid in my backyard on a blanket for quite awhile and read my book. Later that evening I walked a few blocks to meet Camille and Jess at one of our neighborhood bars. We had a few drinks and talked and laughed. It was really fun. We then walked back to our house where Jess stayed the night.

Sunday morning I finally got to talk on the phone with Becky. We'd been playing phone tag for WEEKS so it was great to finally connect. Jess and I had coffee and bagels before she went home. I read the paper and listened to music then read my book for awhile. In the afternoon I rode my bike over to Elaine and Gina's house. I went with them to another family bbq. This one was hosted by their cousin. There was tons of food and cutie little kids and a puppy and lots of great stories. I had a really good time and left feeling like I could go a week without eating again.

So that was my weekend...pretty low key and relaxing. Please let me know what you've been doing and how you are. I'll post a few pictures in the next few days. Next weeks' posting will be late as I'm going up to Trout Lake for the 4th of July and won't be back until Monday sometime.

xoxo,
carolyn
