Two Multnomah County Sheriffs (with gigantic guns drawn) were on the Eagle Creek trail in front of Gina and I. We caught up with them as they were talking to a woman coming down the trail. Apparently a man was on the trail with a gun (this woman had seen him) and was firing his gun into the creek. This trail is one of the most popular in all of the Gorge. People swim (and belly flop themselves into unconciousness!) all the time in this water. I never heard if they caught the culprit. Idiot!

The trail here is an engineering marvel with steel cables to hold onto along the steep cliffs.
