logjam obstacle

logjam obstacle, originally uploaded by carolyn_in_oregon.

The super skinny Oneonta Gorge is an amazing place in the Columbia River Gorge. I'm usually here in winter and thus have never hiked back to the waterfall at the end of the gorge.

It's only a half mile back to a 150 foot waterfall at the end of this little gorge but it does require you to climb over this crazy logjam (which is quite slippery) and actually walk in the creek (which is quite cold). You will get wet so it's best done at the end of summer when the water level is low.

I should be back here on Saturday to hike back myself (FINALLY!).
