cape foulweather

lived up to its name.

On the Oregon Coast just north of Newport. It was named in 1778 by Captain Cook as he sailed past in some nasty weather. During winter storms winds of 100 mph are not unusual here. Thankfully this was a calm day and the threatening weather actually stayed off shore.
