Where am I going to live????
Hello everyone!
We had a beautiful weekend here in Portland. The weather has been gorgeous and there are flowers blooming all over the place. I left work early on Friday. I looked at some apartments and called a bunch of places. For those of you that don't know I'm in the process of trying to find a 2 bedroom apartment to share with my friend Camille. Camille has to move out from where she's currently living and I thought I was wasting a lot of money on a one bedroom apartment when I'm not home very much.
Later Friday afternoon Gina & I drove out to Pier Park and squeezed in 18 holes of frisbee golf in the last afternoon light. We got take out from the Vietnamese restaurant near her house. I always get the same thing...I love it so much I'm afraid to try something else that I won't like as much. Silly girl! Later that night Camille and her friend Greta picked me up and we all headed over to our friend Bo & Marcy's house to celebrate Bo's birthday. It was great to see some friends that I hadn't seen in awhile.
Saturday morning I rode my bike over to Elaine's house & we headed out into the Gorge for some frisbee golf. Elaine's boyfriend, Dave, was already at Rooster Rock State Park with big bunch of his friends so we joined up with them. We were a group of 12 but thankfully there weren't many other people out on the course. I had a great time golfing and the weather was spectacular. We played the last 9 holes as teams of 3. I was on the winning team (Team Dave). Both Daves are excellent golfers but I did at least get in the winning putt. The After 18 holes there we drove just a little further into the Gorge to another course at Benson State Park. It's only 9 holes and pretty easy so we actually played it twice.
After all that golf we were starving as it was late in the afternoon by then. We drove back towards Portland and stopped to eat at a restaurant called Hagar's. They had great sandwiches and firepits outside which we crowded around in the diminishing warmth of the day. We got back into town and took it easy. I watched the director's cut of Donnie Darko at Elaine and Gina's before riding my bike back home.
Sunday I was supposed to go on a snowshoeing trip with Jess through Portland Parks and Recreation! I was so excited about it....unfortunately it was cancelled due to lack of enrollment. The woman told me that everyone thinks that there's no snow because of the dry weather but that they've actually found good snowy spots on Mt Hood for each of their trips. Nuts to that! Hopefully next year. Instead Camille and I drove around looking at crappy apartments that we don't want to live in. We peered in windows and made lots of phone calls but nothing so far. I'm supposed to be out of my place in two weeks so we'll see. I'm getting pretty stressed out about this situation. There's not a lot mid-priced 2 bedrooms available.
Later in the afternoon I rode my bike over to Elaine and Gina's house to hang out. We ordered pizza for dinner. Later Elaine, Dave & I practiced our frisbee golf putting in the backyard since they have a basket. It was lots of fun and definitely good practice. I had a lovely bike ride home where I then read my book before going to sleep.
So that's that...I'm supposed to go up to Bellingham to see Sara next weekend but my trip might be cancelled if I can't find an apartment. If you know of any good 2 bedroom apartments in SE Portland....please let me know! ahahahaha
What did you do this weekend?
xoxo,
carolyn
