too bad about the salmonberries

the Hunts Creek Trail was a bit crazy at times. Besides being a relentless climb up a 3 mile hill there were parts of it that were incredibly overgrown. Here the salmonberries take over. It's hard to tell we're actually on a trail.

The bushes had lots of berries and I ate a few and came to the same conclusion I always do...salmonberries don't taste very good. Which is too bad since they're everywhere. At least it wasn't a blackberry thicket because while the berries are tastier, they are far thornier than salmonberries. A good place for a machete...
