ready to go in the sweet boat

My first time ever whitewater rafting! We went down the White Salmon River. I got to sit in front (for maximum wetness) since I'd never been rafting before. Also in my boat: Cory & Wendy (two teachers from Chicago on a 5 week road trip) our friend Tom who used to live in Trout Lake, Elaine, John (the tallest of them all) and our guide Ben (long hair and a fantastic!!! guide through Zollers Outdoor Odysseys).

As soon as the two hours of rafting was over I wanted to do again, right away. The White Salmon River is a designated "Wild and Scenic River" and is crazy beautiful. The first few miles are wild with no house or signs of humans, just cliffs and caves, wildflowers and ferns and of course crazy rapids with names like Granny Snatcher and Corkscrew. The best of all was going over Husum Falls. I will never ever forget this. I want to go again!!!
