We hiked to Elk Cove from Cloud Cap on the northern side of Mt Hood. The footbridge over Eliot Creek (the runoff from Eliot Glacier) was washed out so we had to take a detour. The trail went through a rocky wasteland above timberline with the path marked by rock cairns along the way.
