a group of hikers stop to talk to some National Park Service employees. They were putting ropes & poles across snowfields to mark the trail. The Skyline Trail still had lots of snow showing what a big snow year we had. Last year when I did this hike we encountered only 2 patches of snow and it never covered the trail. Last year was a crappy snow year.
