60 years of each other
My grandparents celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a big family dinner in Kirkland, just outside of Seattle.
My Grandma Jean met my Grandpa Al at Fleet Week in Seattle 61 years ago. She went on a tour of one of the ships to get out of the rain. My grandpa, a Navy man, had raindrops hanging from his earlobes. That's what attracted my grandma to him. Six months later my grandma took the train to Chicago, where my grandpa was from, and they were married.
They live on the Washington coast just on the border with Canada in the house built by my great-great-great-great grandfather.
