I can't believe it's May!

Hello everyone!

I had a very nice weekend and hope you did also. Friday night I finished putting away stuff in our house. Our carpet was replaced on Thursday so we had to put the house back together again. It was a big pain since we had just moved but the new carpet is wonderful. Later that night I went over to Gina's house and hung out with her and Terry. Dave and Elaine came home and we all went to Thatchers to have a beer. I was tired and had early Saturday morning plans so I went home pretty early.

Saturday morning I was at Elaine's by 8:30. A big group of us went out to Dabney State Park to go frisbee golfing. The weather was beautiful and I had a great time. We lost a few discs though as the blackberries and nettles are really growing in thick. Since there were so many us playing (8) we were a slow moving train and I had lunch plans so Gina & I had to leave at hole 15 to head back home. I took a quick shower and went to meet Jess for sushi. Ichidai, where we regularly go for sushi, is only open for dinner on weekends. Same story at another sushi restaurant we tried. We ended up getting yummy sandwiches at the Hedge House before driving downtown to the Art Museum. I haven't volunteered there in a while and there were a few new exhibits up that I wanted to see. We saw an exhibit of the Pre-Raphaelites and Northwest printmakers as well as walking through the permanent Asian collection. We picked up some things in the gift shop before heading out.

Later Saturday night Gina came over to my house and we walked the few blocks to Roscoes. Dave and friends were playing there that night. There were 2 guitars, accordion, mandolin and an acoustic bass so it was really fun. I talked to some people there that I had met the weekend before at the Masters which was cool. The music sounded great and I had a great time hanging out with my friends.

Sunday Chris came over to see my new place. We then drove over to NW Portland to take his dog Otis on a walk through Macleay Park. The trail was a little muddy in spots but the woods were lush and beautiful. Otis had a great time sniffing around and exploring. After our walk we stopped at a McMenamins for lunch. We sat at a picnic table outside with dog and had a good lunch in the sun.

After Chris dropped me off I talked on the phone with my mom of course. Later I went over to Elaine & Gina's house. We watched the movie Sideways and then made a huge wonderful dinner of elk steaks, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, salad and bread with super garlic butter along with a great bottle of red wine. It was a fantastic Sunday dinner. I just love making dinner with my friends!

So that was my weekend. I have lots of pictures which I will post today. Please let me know how your weekend was!

xoox,
carolyn
